Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On May 27, NIO officially began deliveries of its refreshed ET5 and ET5T models, which went on sale just two days earlier on May 25. The updated models start at 298,000 yuan with a standard 75kWh battery purchase, while the battery subscription option starts at 228,000 yuan.

The new ET5 and ET5T are now available in two additional exterior colors—Faraway Purple and Moonlight Silver—bringing the total to nine. A series of exterior refinements give the models a sharper, more dynamic look, including a vertical-cut front fascia, redesigned Double-Dash LED daytime running lights integrated with standard ADB smart multi-beam headlights, and a sealed-off grille with a larger trapezoidal air intake for a bolder front profile.

At the rear, both models adopt a full-width taillight design. The new ET5 features a ducktail spoiler, while the new ET5T adds a prominent roof-mounted spoiler. Glossy black accents now highlight the front and rear bumpers, side skirts, and vertical tail diffusers, enhancing the sporty feel. A new 20-inch five-spoke wheel option is also available.

Inside, the new ET5 series is equipped with a 15.6-inch 3K AMOLED touchscreen, a 10.2-inch digital instrument cluster, and an 18.8-inch wide-angle HUD—all standard. The cars also feature a rear-view streaming mirror and column shifter, and support Apple CarKey functionality.

The ADAS system includes 29 high-precision sensors, such as a 300-line equivalent LiDAR and 4D imaging radar, and is powered by NIO’s in-house developed Shenji NX9031 chip. The vehicles also debut NIO World Model (NWM), which enables panoramic environmental awareness and predictive scene generation from historical data, significantly improving the experience and safety of assisted driving.

Interior updates include three new color schemes—Light Vine Purple, Alpine Grey, and Pearl Shell—bringing the total to five. The central console has been optimized for more storage, and standard features include a panoramic glass roof (with the ET5T offering a smart dimming version), a 23-speaker 7.1.4 surround sound system, waterfall ambient lighting, dual-layer silver-coated windshield glass, and dual 50W wireless phone charging zones. The seats now feature ergonomically designed two-piece backrests and high-resilience foam cushions, with 14-way power adjustment, heating, ventilation, and massage functions as standard for both front seats.

The chassis has also undergone significant upgrades, with continuous damping control system as standard, hydraulic rear subframe bushings, and enhancements to more than 15 suspension components. A 4D ride comfort and navigation system further improves driving quality.

Both models retain NIO's exclusive EP Mode+ and now support additional specialized driving modes such as Launch, Drift, and Mountain, catering to performance enthusiasts. The new ET5T, as a practical tourer, boasts a maximum towing capacity of 1,400 kilograms and a tow hook load limit of 75 kilograms.

The dimensions remain unchanged at 4,790 mm in length, 1,960 mm in width, and 1,499 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,888 mm. The dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup is also unchanged, delivering 150 kW from the front motor and 210 kW from the rear.

Battery options include 75kWh and 100kWh packs, with short-term rentals of a 150kWh ultra-long-range pack also available to accommodate various usage scenarios. An optional AC charging port adds further flexibility for charging solutions.
