【SMM Steel】Indonesian hot-rolled coil has filled the gap in Taiwan's market caused by anti-dumping duties on Chinese HRC and rising local prices. Indonesian mills customized mainstream sizes and flexible specifications to attract Taiwan processors, securing over 5000 tonnes of orders in June alone exceeding the total volume for all of last year. Major Indonesian suppliers backed by large trading networks are driving this expansion. While re-rollers remain cautious steel traders and cutting processors actively secure these alternatives to fill the void left by Chinese supply. This surge establishes Southeast Asian mills as a force capable of reshaping Taiwan's steel supply network as competing Indonesian producers prepare to lower price quotes to secure more orders.

【SMM Steel】Continuous heavy rainfall across Taiwan has halted rebar market activity as the plum rain season disrupts construction schedules. Steel mills report zero inquiries from distributors who in turn see no end-user demand. Deliveries remain heavily delayed raising concerns for this month's shipment volumes. Despite stagnant demand prices remain stable due to a complete lack of negotiations. Market participants expect price stability to continue into next week assuming global raw material costs remain unchanged. Even when weather improves the construction backlog will likely continue to limit immediate market activity forcing steel mills to focus heavily on clearing delayed shipments.
