Holiday Disruptions Led to Significant Pullback in Operating Rates of Copper Enamelled Wire Industry

Published: May 8, 2026 09:44
During the Labour Day holiday, most enamelled wire enterprises cut production and reduced load based on orders. This week (5.1-5.7), the enamelled wire industry's operating rate pulled back sharply to 72.47% WoW, with new orders weakening in tandem, declining 4.68 percentage points. Post-holiday new order intake showed mediocre performance, with downstream buyers highly sensitive to prices. Industry operating rates were difficult to restore to pre-holiday levels, and with the traditional off-season approaching, overall end-user demand remained under pressure going forward.
