Zhejiang Launches $4.2B UHV AC Ring Network Project, Enhancing Power Grid Structure

On April 28, the Zhejiang UHV AC ring network project officially commenced construction. The project's transmission lines span from northern to southern Zhejiang, with a total investment of 29.3 billion yuan. Multiple UHV substations will be newly built or expanded, adding tens of millions of kVA in transformer capacity. As China's largest single UHV AC project in terms of investment and engineering volume, upon completion, the project will upgrade Zhejiang's existing UHV AC grid into a ring structure, significantly optimizing the province's power transmission layout.
