Recycling Industry Events This Week (April 4.27-4.30)

This week's recycling industry events:

Annual Processing of 120,000 Tons of Spent Power Lithium-Ion Batteries and 10,000 Tons of Silicon-Carbon Anode Material Project Lands
On April 9, the Ecological Environment Bureau of Ji'an City released the proposed acceptance public notice for the environmental impact report of the "Jiangxi Woquan Energy Technology Co., Ltd. Comprehensive Utilization of Spent Power Lithium-Ion Batteries and Silicon-Carbon Anode Material Manufacturing Project." The project mainly includes battery recycling and silicon-carbon anode material production. The battery recycling part will comprehensively utilize 120,000 tons of spent power lithium-ion batteries annually (40,000 tons of ternary lithium batteries, 80,000 tons of lithium iron phosphate batteries), and the silicon-carbon anode material part will produce 10,000 tons of silicon-carbon anode materials annually.

Jiangxi Retired Lithium Battery Comprehensive Recycling and Cascade Regeneration Project Submitted for Approval
The project is named "Jiangxi Longkai Circular Technology Co., Ltd. Retired Lithium Battery Comprehensive Recycling and Cascade Regeneration Project." It is a new construction project, with four processing systems: a spent lithium battery cascade utilization and pretreatment system (including 2 lines for spent ternary lithium battery cascade utilization and pretreatment, and 4 lines for spent lithium iron phosphate battery cascade utilization and pretreatment), a spent ternary lithium battery powder comprehensive recovery system, a spent lithium iron phosphate battery powder comprehensive recovery system, and a lithium carbonate production system. Product plan: cascade utilization ternary lithium battery packs (400 t/a),

Yichang 300,000-Ton Spent Lithium Iron Phosphate Battery Recycling Project Arrives
The project is named "Yichang Brunp Recycling 300,000-Ton Spent Lithium Iron Phosphate Battery Recycling Project." The total investment is 1.066 billion yuan. Construction includes a new #175 lithium salt workshop, #188 LFP synthesis workshop, #181 powder slurrying + electrode sheet crushing workshop, #187 crushing workshop, and #192 battery pack dismantling workshop, along with technical modifications to meet production needs. It is designed to process 300,000 tons of spent lithium iron phosphate batteries annually.

Annual Processing of 10,000 Tons of Spent Lithium-Ion Batteries and Separator Crushing & Pyrolysis Project Lands in Hunan
Recently, the official website of Hunan Zhongbang Renewable Resources Technology Co., Ltd. released a public notice for the draft environmental impact report of the "Annual Processing of 10,000 Tons of Spent Lithium-Ion Batteries and Separator Crushing & Pyrolysis Project." After implementation, the production line will process 10,000 tons of spent lithium-ion batteries and separators annually, producing 4,100 tons of lithium battery black mass and 2,590 tons of copper-aluminum material.

Xingfa Group's Annual 100,000-Ton Lithium Iron Phosphate Project Lands

Hyundai Motor Group to pilot EV battery subscription service for corporate taxis
Hyundai Motor Group will begin testing a subscription model that separates electric vehicle batteries from vehicle ownership. The group said on April 28 that Hyundai Motor and Hyundai Capital will launch a pilot battery subscription service for corporate taxis in the first half of this year. The pilot will target five IONIQ 5 corporate taxis in the Seoul metropolitan area whose battery warranty periods have expired. Under the program, participating vehicles will use batteries through a monthly subscription fee instead of purchasing them outright. When battery replacement is needed, the existing battery will be returned and another battery will be supplied.

Hyundai Motor to launch IONIQ 5 Facelift in India on June 5
Hyundai Motor will launch the IONIQ 5 Facelift electric vehicle in India on June 5. The model is expected to retain the existing rear-wheel-drive powertrain while upgrading its battery capacity from 72.6 kWh to 84 kWh. With the larger battery pack, the driving range is expected to increase from the current 451 km to around 570 km on a single charge. The vehicle is likely to deliver around 215 hp and 350 Nm of torque, with acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in about 7.5 seconds and a top speed of 185 km/h. The IONIQ 5 Facelift is also expected to support 350 kW ultra-fast charging, enabling the battery to charge from 10% to 80% in around 18 minutes.
