[SMM Iron & Steel] US Raw Steel Production Reaches 80% Capacity Utilization

For the week ending April 18, 2026, US domestic raw steel production rose to 1.848 million net tons, hitting a benchmark capability utilization rate of 80.0%. This represents a 9.7% increase compared to the same week in 2025. Adjusted year-to-date production has reached 27.719 million net tons, up 5.8% year-on-year, with the Southern district continuing to lead domestic output at 823,000 tons.
