Gotion High-tech Plans to Release Fifth-Generation LFP Full-Scenario Battery in Mid-May

The company plans to launch its fifth-generation LFP full-scenario battery in mid-May, covering all application scenarios including passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles, energy storage, and low-altitude aircraft. According to reports, the new fifth-generation LFP battery can achieve a maximum energy density of 205 Wh/kg; the superfast charging version can charge from 10% to 70% SOC in less than 4.5 minutes; the ultra-long lifespan version can support over 10 years of ultra-long warranty for vehicle use and a 30-year ultra-long lifespan for energy storage applications. Gotion High-tech will hold the 2026 Global Technology Conference in Hefei on May 16, where the technology will be unveiled.

By source country, African ore saw notable growth: Nigeria supplied 125,100 tonnes, up 63% month-on-month; shipments from Zimbabwe that were dispatched earlier arrived at 112,600 tonnes in the month, an increase of 61%; Canada broke the zero-import pattern of January–February, with 58,600 tonnes arriving in March; while Australia, affected by shipping schedules, recorded imports of 255,600 tonnes, a decrease month-on-month.

In March 2026, China’s phosphate ore imports reached 182,000 mt, up 88.2% MoM and 144.4% YoY, with an average price of $79.9/mt, down 7.2% MoM.Affected by Strait of Hormuz disruptions, Jordan halted supplies for the first time since September 2023. Imports mainly came from Egypt (170,000 mt) and Pakistan (12,000 mt), through Guangxi, Hubei and Fujian.
