[PV: France Installs 1.42 GW of Solar in Q1 2026 as Deployment Remains Stable]

Published: Apr 20, 2026 09:27
France connected 1,418 MW of new PV capacity in Q1 2026, according to grid operator Enedis, broadly in line with 1,407 MW in Q1 2025. Of the new capacity, 1,093 MW was fully injected into the grid, 284 MW operated under self-consumption with surplus injection, and 41 MW was self-consumption without grid injection. A total of 31,565 PV systems were installed during the period, with most in the sub-36 kW segment. Only 8 MW included storage, down from 38 MW a year earlier. Deployment has slowed due to regulatory changes affecting residential systems and delays in new tenders, while about 10 GW of projects remain awaiting grid connection.
