【SMM Flash News】 Chandra Asri Declares Force Majeure Due to Strait of Hormuz Disruptions
Indonesian petrochemical giant PT Chandra Asri Pacific has officially declared force majeure on its feedstock shipments following the outbreak of the Iran-Israel-US conflict. In a notice issued on March 2, the company cited severe disruptions to oil and LNG flows through the Strait of Hormuz, which has significantly impacted its raw material supply. Chandra Asri, which operates Indonesia’s largest integrated petrochemical complex and a major naphtha cracker, stated it will adjust plant operating rates to maintain resilience. The duration of the force majeure remains uncertain as the company closely monitors the escalating geopolitical situation.
