AM Green, Mitsui Ink Pact for India's Green Aluminum Industry Collaboration

AM Green and Mitsui recently officially signed a cooperation agreement to jointly explore investment directions and cooperation possibilities in India's aluminum manufacturing industry. According to the agreement with Mitsui, the core focus of their collaboration is to evaluate potential investments in the AM Green Metals value chain. Among these, Mitsui's investment will primarily support equity funding required for the construction of the aluminum production platform, alleviating financial pressure on the project. Beyond exploring financial cooperation, the two parties will also engage in in-depth discussions on commercial and strategic opportunities, specifically including offtake cooperation for low-carbon aluminum products and the supply of auxiliary materials to aluminum smelters and alumina refineries, aiming to build a fully integrated green aluminum industry cooperation ecosystem. Prior to reaching this agreement, AM Green had already outlined its plan for India's green aluminum industry, having previously proposed the establishment of an aluminum smelter and an alumina refinery in the region. The company has signed a memorandum of understanding with the government of Andhra Pradesh, India, planning to build a green aluminum smelter with an annual capacity of 1 million mt in the state, injecting momentum into the local aluminum industry's green transformation.
