Published: Dec 11, 2025 11:08
The Mexican Senate has just approved an updated tariff schedule targeting many categories of imports, including aluminium as a key sector. In total, 38 aluminium related import tariffs will be implemented by 2026, with 18 new ones included and 18 tariff lines unchanged. For aluminium, the new tariffs are set mostly at 35%, including key categories like profiles, wires and structures. Primary unwrought aluminium and its alloys, initially proposed to have an import duty of 10%, were also removed from this round of tariffs to be at 0%.
