Australian listed company Bayan Mining and Minerals has made strategic investments in the world's most promising rare earth mineralization zones, applying for 72 federal mining permits in the eastern Mojave Desert of California.
The project, named Desert Star (abbreviated as Sha Xin), covers an area of 6 square kilometers and is located only 4.5 kilometers away from the similarly named rare earth mine of MP Materials, the only active rare earth mine in the US and one of the richest rare earth mines globally. The project is situated 4.7 kilometers from the Colosseum project of Dateline Resources.
