Henan Iron & Steel Group Commissions World's First Dual Ultra-Wide Stands Production Line for Wide and Heavy Plates

Published: Jun 3, 2025 17:43

According to the WeChat account of "Henan Steel", the world's first "5600mm+5500mm dual ultra-wide stands" wide and heavy plate production line has been fully commissioned at Henan Iron & Steel Group.

This also means that Henan Iron & Steel Group has strongly entered the "first echelon" of global high-end steel manufacturing, opening a new chapter in its high-end, intelligent, and green development, as well as its special steel transformation process.

It is reported that this ultra-strong production line, the only one in the world composed of a 5600mm ultra-wide rolling mill and a 5500mm finishing mill, can roll ship-grade giant plates with a width of up to 5300mm and a thickness of up to 300mm, completely breaking through the capacity bottleneck of ultra-wide special steel plates.

The production line focuses on strategic products such as offshore engineering steel, wind turbine tower plates, and ultra-high pressure vessel plates, achieving full-size coverage from the keel of giant ships (5300mm wide plates) to 100-meter wind turbine towers (150mm thick plates), helping Henan Province's high-end manufacturing leap to the pinnacle of the global industry chain.
