[SMM Weekly Report: Cobalt Salt Prices Fell Slightly This Week] Cobalt salt prices continued to decline this week. From the supply side, due to the continuous decline in cobalt salt prices, some cobalt salt smelters are under great pressure from cost, resulting in a decrease in production. From the downstream demand side, although the demand for ternary precursors has slightly recovered, it is concentrated in the high-nickel direction, providing limited support for cobalt salt demand. On balance, although production has declined, the demand side is weaker, so under the game of supply and demand, spot prices remain downward. Looking ahead, as cobalt salt prices have reached a historical low, and with the guidance of the bottom-fishing mentality in the spot market, inquiries have increased; therefore, the phenomenon of cobalt salt overselling to promote transactions has decreased, and spot prices may remain stagnant in the short term.

[Solid-State Battery: EcoPro BM Forms All-Solid-State Battery Team Covering the Full "Raw Material-Material-Battery Cell" Chain, Targeting Commercialization by 2027] On August 26, 2026, EcoPro BM held a kick-off meeting in Gyeonggi Province, officially forming an "all-solid-state battery team" covering the full "raw material-material-battery cell" chain. The project is led by South Korea's Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and EcoPro BM was selected in early August, along with four other enterprises, as a third-phase "super subcontractor" company. Team participants include the Korea Electronics Technology Institute (KETI), the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH), Hanyang University, and others. EcoPro BM plans to develop sulphide-based solid electrolytes based on high-purity lithium sulphide, with the goal of commercializing sulphide-based all-solid-state batteries by 2027. Chuneng New Energy đã ký thỏa thuận với bốn đối tác, gồm biên bản ghi nhớ với Intermepro của Argentina và ION Energy, JSN Energia của Brazil, cùng thỏa thuận khung cung cấp 1,5GWh pin cho nhà máy lưu trữ đầu tiên ở nước ngoài của Windey Energy tại Bahia, Brazil. Với lưới điện yếu, tỷ lệ cắt giảm 20,6% và giá điện dân dụng cao thứ hai thế giới, Brazil sẽ triển khai đấu thầu lưu trữ quốc gia lớn nhất Mỹ Latinh (khoảng 18GW trong vòng đầu tiên) vào tháng 12/2026, thu hút CATL, Trina, Hithium, CLOU, Gotion và Great Power mở rộng tại địa phương.
