Traders kept prices firm and spot premiums in Shanghai remained rangebound

Mainstream traded prices of #0 zinc were 22360~22650 yuan/mt today, with 22450~22730 yuan/mt for Shuangyan zinc, and 22290~22580 yuan/mt for #1 zinc. Spot discounts were small over the average SMM zinc price. During the second trading session, regular domestic brands were quoted with discounts of 110~120 yuan/mt over the SHFE 2405 zinc contract. Shuangyan zinc was quoted with discounts of 30 yuan/mt over the contract. Zinc prices remained volatile today. The downstream purchased as required, and spot transactions were weak. However, considering the cost, traders’ quotations were relatively strong, and the premium remained rangebound.
