Toyota and China Minmetals Reach Cooperation on Battery Recycling

Recently, Toyota Motor Corporation has reached a strategic cooperation with China Minmetals Corporation Limited on the cascade utilization and resource recycling of vehicle traction batteries. Agreements have also been made with the Changsha Research Institute of Mining and Metallurgy Co., Ltd., Hunan Yunshu Recycling New Energy Technology Co., Ltd., Hunan Changyuan Lico Co., Ltd., and Meihua Industrial (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., which are all affiliated with China Minmetals, to establish a joint venture company. This marks Toyota's first overseas joint venture project aimed at the cascade utilization of vehicle traction batteries.
