A total of 8.2646 million mt of coal arrived at Chinese ports last week, down 8.7% week-on-week

Coal arrivals at Chinese ports dropped by 8.7% on a weekly basis to 8.2646 million mt last week. Among them, arrivals across the 11 major ports in China were 3.916 million mt, down 21.7% on a weekly basis, and arrivals at Guangzhou Port were 1.1808 million mt, up 25.1% and accounting for 14.3% of total arrivals

A total of 6.813 million mt of thermal coal arrived at Chinese ports last week, up 1.8% week-on-week. A total of 1.149 million mt of coke arrived at Chinese ports last week, down 43.1% week-on-week.

Departure port

Coal shipments from major ports dropped 0.4% on a weekly basis to 25.739 million mt last week. Among them, shipments from seven major ports were 10.913 million mt, an increase of 1.2% from the previous week, and the total shipments from Newcastle Port in Australia were 2.823 million mt, a decrease of 19.5% and accounting for 11% of the total shipments.

Steel exports by variety

Global port shipments of thermal coal were 13.26 million mt last week, up 0.6% week-on-week. Global port shipments of coke were 11.364 million mt last week, down 2.8% week-on-week.
