SMM Analysis: Weak Supply and Demand, February Diaphragm Production Decreased by 14%

SMM News, March 10th, In February, China's lithium battery diaphragm production reached 996 million square meters, a decrease of 14% compared to the previous month, and an increase of 2% compared to the same period last year. In terms of raw material types, the production of wet diaphragms in the same month was 747 million square meters, a decrease of 12% compared to the previous month, and an increase of 2% compared to the same period last year. The production of dry diaphragms in the same month was 249 million square meters, a decrease of 18% compared to the previous month, and an increase of 2% compared to the same period last year.

[Solid-State Battery: EcoPro BM Forms All-Solid-State Battery Team Covering the Full "Raw Material-Material-Battery Cell" Chain, Targeting Commercialization by 2027] On August 26, 2026, EcoPro BM held a kick-off meeting in Gyeonggi Province, officially forming an "all-solid-state battery team" covering the full "raw material-material-battery cell" chain. The project is led by South Korea's Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and EcoPro BM was selected in early August, along with four other enterprises, as a third-phase "super subcontractor" company. Team participants include the Korea Electronics Technology Institute (KETI), the Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST), Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH), Hanyang University, and others. EcoPro BM plans to develop sulphide-based solid electrolytes based on high-purity lithium sulphide, with the goal of commercializing sulphide-based all-solid-state batteries by 2027. Reported by Yonhap News Agency and other South Korean media on August 31.

Tại Intersolar South America ở Brazil (25-27/8), khoảng 20 công ty lưu trữ năng lượng Trung Quốc đã tham gia triển lãm. Chuneng New Energy đã ký thỏa thuận với bốn đối tác, gồm biên bản ghi nhớ với Intermepro của Argentina và ION Energy, JSN Energia của Brazil, cùng thỏa thuận khung cung cấp 1,5GWh pin cho nhà máy lưu trữ đầu tiên ở nước ngoài của Windey Energy tại Bahia, Brazil. Với lưới điện yếu, tỷ lệ cắt giảm 20,6% và giá điện dân dụng cao thứ hai thế giới, Brazil sẽ triển khai đấu thầu lưu trữ quốc gia lớn nhất Mỹ Latinh (khoảng 18GW trong vòng đầu tiên) vào tháng 12/2026, thu hút CATL, Trina, Hithium, CLOU, Gotion và Great Power mở rộng tại địa phương.

Ngày 30/8, Xibei Power đã ký kết dự án cơ sở sản xuất pin natri-ion hiệu suất cao tại Khu công nghệ cao Zigong, Tứ Xuyên, với tổng vốn đầu tư 250 triệu nhân dân tệ. Sau khi hoàn thành, nhà máy sẽ có công suất hàng năm 0,5 GWh và dự kiến đạt doanh thu 500 triệu nhân dân tệ mỗi năm, với kế hoạch mở rộng theo từng giai đoạn hướng tới công suất dài hạn 10 GWh.
