BYD launches its third electric vehicle in India with a starting price of nearly $50,000. On March 5th, local time, Sanjay Gopalakrishnan, Vice President of the BYD India subsidiary, announced in New Delhi that the company has introduced the luxury electric sedan 'Seal' to the Indian market with a starting price of 4.1 million rupees (approximately $49,458).
The first two products introduced by BYD in India, the Atto 3 sports utility vehicle and the E6 multi-purpose crossover, are currently priced at over 3 million rupees. According to data from the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations of India, BYD sold 1,877 vehicles in the country in 2023, a 314% increase compared to the previous year.
