Chairman of Tongwei Group Calls for Accelerated Energy Storage Construction in China

[National People's Congress representative, Chairman of Tongwei Group Board of Directors Liu Hanyuan: Further accelerate the construction of various energy storage in China] On March 3, National People's Congress representative, Vice Chairman of the All-China Federation of Industry and Commerce, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Tongwei Group, Liu Hanyuan, stated that at this year's National People's Congress and Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, he will put forward relevant suggestions on building a comprehensive energy storage system with pumped storage energy and new energy storage as the main forms, and other various storage forms such as electric vehicles as supplements, in order to promote the process of low-carbon China.

Liu Hanyuan suggested that greater policy efforts should be made to start large-scale construction of pumped storage energy projects; greater efforts should be made to promote the development of new energy storage, support the participation of new energy storage in peak shaving and frequency regulation, and guide and encourage operators to participate in the energy storage business, using market mechanisms to solve the problems faced by energy storage; and accelerate the research and formulation of relevant supporting policies and measures for electric vehicles to participate in grid energy storage.
