SMM News on March 1st: On February 28th, the innovative demonstration project of the combined grid-side shared energy storage station with compressed air and lithium battery system in Tongwei County, Gansu Province, a key supported project by the National Energy Administration, successfully connected the lithium battery system to the grid. The project, located in Dongguan Village, Maying Town, Tongwei County, has a total investment of 396 million yuan and covers an area of 82.86 acres. It is the first energy storage project in the country to couple compressed air with lithium batteries. The project is constructed using a combined compressed air and lithium battery energy storage method, with a first-phase construction capacity of 50 MW/200 MWh, including a lithium battery energy storage system installed capacity of 40 MW/90 MWh.
