【Liontown Resources Company Ensures Kathleen Valley Project to Start Production on Schedule】
Australian company Liontown Resources Limited plans to launch the Kathleen Valley lithium project in the middle of this year. Facing a decline in lithium spodumene prices, the company is reassessing expansion plans to reduce costs and short-term funding needs. Despite the termination of a $760 million Australian dollar loan agreement previously signed with a consortium of lenders due to discussions on reducing the financing scale, Liontown has secured full project financing of $300 million Australian dollars from Fortescue, and now holds a cash reserve of $515 million Australian dollars, ensuring the start of phase one production in mid-2024. The company remains optimistic about the long-term prospects of the lithium market.
