5.3-magnitude earthquake near the province of South Cotabato, Philippines
According to the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology, a 5.3-magnitude earthquake struck the waters near the province of South Cotabato, southern Mindanao Island, at around 9:11 am on January 3. The earthquake had a depth of 10 kilometers and was felt in nearby cities.
