Aluminum Billet Stocks In China Hit Recent Low, Albeit Still Higher Than A Year Ago

According to SMM statistics, the domestic social inventory of aluminum billets on December 28 was 64,100 mt, a decrease of 800 mt compared with last Thursday and 2,700 mt compared with this Monday, but an increase of 2,200 mt compared with the same period last year. This marks a recent low. As the year comes to an end, domestic aluminum billet supply and demand are both declining. SMM believes that there is little room for aluminum billet stocks to continue to decline and stocks may fluctuate in the range of 60,000-70,000 mt in the short term.
