China International Power Battery Recycling Summit(BRS2023) was successfully held on October 26-27 in Shanghai. Organized by ACI Environ (Shanghai Gongjia Information Consulting Co., Ltd.), supported by the Waste Battery Recycling Branch of the China Material Recycling Association, the two-day event featured 23 prominent battery recycling leaders sharing their unique perspectives and the latest innovations and solutions on creating a circular economy for used batteries and help create sustainable supply chains for the future.

The Summit welcomed over 350 international and regional leaders from government, battery producers, OEMs, recycling companies, universities, and the entire battery recycling chain. On the evening of the first day of the conference, a closed door night talk was organized, with guests from Huayou Recycling, Ascend Elements, Brunp Recycling, NEU Battery Materials, Xiamen Tungsten, Hunan Wuchuang, Beijing Saidemei, Ganfeng Lithium, Bosch Group, North Star Advanced Recycling, Central South University, Xi'an Jiaotong University, University of Science and Technology Beijing, Lithium++, Hangzhou Lanran, Cybertron New Energy, Attero Recycling, Exigo Recycling, Batx Energies, Lico Materials, AmChamUS and others. Main topics: : Policy trends, market environment, opportunities and challenges of power battery recycling;Difficulties in battery recycling technology and processes, and how recycling enterprises achieve key technological improvements and improve economic benefits;Discussion on environmental protection and safety issues in battery recycling ; Exploration and practice of intelligent technology in battery recycling and utilization; How to leverage each other's strengths to jointly build a better recycling business model and also other related topics. Unlike traditional keynote speeches and presentations, the closed door night talk session places more emphasis on collision of ideas and immediate thinking, adding a lot of color to the conference and allowing attendees to gain more knowledge.

On the second day of BRS2023, Wang Dechuang, Vice President and Secretary General of the Waste Battery Recycling Branch of the China Material Recycling Association, served as the conference chairman. Solis Minerals đã bắt đầu khoan kim cương tại Dự án Lithium Campo Grande ở Thung lũng Lithium Araçuaí-Salinas, Brazil. Công ty dự kiến khoan năm lỗ với tổng chiều dài khoảng 1.000 m, độ sâu lên tới 200 m, nhằm thăm dò các pegmatit lithium trên hành lang rộng 500 m. Solis cho biết đặc điểm địa chất và địa hóa của Campo Grande tương đương với Dự án Lithium Colina của PLS Group, cách khoảng 100 km về phía tây nam. Riêng tại Dự án Lithium Mandacaru ở Brazil, Solis đã hoàn thành bảy lỗ khoan và đang chờ kết quả phân tích.

Charger Metals đã huy động giàn khoan thứ hai đến Dự án Lithium Lake Johnston ở Tây Úc, nằm trong chương trình khoan 10.000 m nhằm mở rộng tài nguyên. Các giàn khoan kim cương và khoan tuần hoàn nghịch hiện đang hoạt động tại mỏ lithium Medcalf, và hoạt động khoan RC đã bắt đầu cách đây hơn một tuần. Chương trình sẽ tăng gấp đôi số mét khoan tại Medcalf. Mục tiêu khoan nhằm mở rộng và khoan bổ sung tại khu vực ước tính tài nguyên khoáng sản suy đoán Medcalf là 10,6 triệu tấn với hàm lượng 1% Li₂O. Hoạt động khoan đã xác định rõ hơn Mục tiêu Thăm dò Medcalf West là 3-5 triệu tấn với hàm lượng 1-1,4% Li₂O. Tài nguyên hiện tại nằm trên lưới khoan chủ yếu 40 m x 80 m, bao gồm 10.936 m khoan với chi phí 32 đô la cho mỗi tấn Li₂O chứa. Chương trình được tài trợ hoàn toàn từ việc Charger bán Dự án Lithium Bynoe cho Core Lithium với giá 3,75 triệu đô la tiền mặt, nhận vào ngày 17 tháng 7 năm 2026. Lake Johnston nằm cách Perth 450 km về phía đông trong tỉnh Yilgarn, cách Dự án Lithium Earl Grey khoảng 70 km, nơi Covalent Lithium bắt đầu khai thác và vận hành thử vào tháng 3 năm 2024.

Ngày 23 tháng 9, Savannah Resources đã huy động được 30 triệu USD cho Dự án Lithium Barroso tại Bồ Đào Nha, thông qua 408 triệu cổ phiếu với giá 0,055 bảng/cổ phiếu, bao gồm 11,2 triệu USD từ các thỏa thuận đăng ký mua với các cổ đông lớn. Cùng với 15,5 triệu USD tiền mặt hiện có, nguồn vốn này được dùng cho việc chế tạo các hạng mục có thời gian giao hàng dài, xây dựng đường tiếp cận, ký kết hợp đồng EPCM, thiết kế nhà máy, xin cấp phép và quyền sử dụng đất. Nghiên cứu khả thi giai đoạn một tháng 7 năm 2026 của Barroso đã phác thảo vòng đời mỏ 14 năm với sản lượng 183.000 tấn oxit lithium mỗi năm, hàm lượng 5,5%, dựa trên mức giá 1.788 USD/tấn, mang lại 3,2 tỷ USD EBITDA, 1,9 tỷ USD dòng tiền tự do và 913 triệu USD giá trị hiện tại ròng sau thuế. Mỏ này có trữ lượng 39 triệu tấn với hàm lượng 1,05% Li2O, tương đương 411.900 tấn lithium chứa trong quặng, là nguồn tài nguyên spodumene đá cứng lớn nhất châu Âu. Khoản tài trợ này thúc đẩy một trong số ít các nguồn lithium đá cứng quy mô lớn đang được phát triển bên ngoài chuỗi cung ứng liên kết với châu Phi và Nam Mỹ của Trung Quốc, góp phần vào các mục tiêu đa dạng hóa nguyên liệu thô quan trọng của EU.
