SHANGHAI, Oct 9 (SMM) – The SMM battery-grade lithium carbonate index was 170925 yuan/mt today, a decrease of 534 yuan/mt from pre-holiday level. Battery-grade lithium carbonate price range was 160,000-178,000 yuan/mt, flat from pre-holiday level; industrial-grade lithium carbonate price range was 150,000-162,000 yuan/mt, also unchanged.
On the first working day after the weeklong National Day holiday, the overall market trend was relatively calm. Lithium salt plants generally had a strong willingness to raise prices after the holiday, while most downstream manufacturers showed little buying interest as they had stocked before the holiday. Sellers and buyers were in a deadlock.
