In the first half of August, coal enterprises accelerated the release of advanced coal production capacity and increased coal output. According to the Coal Marketing Dispatch Monthly released by China Coal Transportation and Sales Association on August 22, the production, sales and transportation of coal monitored by key coal enterprises compared with the same period of last year have all increased significantly. In terms of downstream demand by industry, the high temperature and rain alternated in the first half of August, and the thermal power generation continued to increase year-on-year, but due to the improvement of water inflow, the negative growth trend of hydropower since mid-January was obviously squeezed out, and the year-on-year growth rate of thermal power turned from positive to negative; the blast furnace opening rate of steel mills increased, and the production of pig iron and the coal consumption of key coking enterprises increased synchronously. The coal stocks of coal producing areas, transit ports and steel and coking enterprises decreased. Domestic and international coal prices fluctuated and adjusted.
