Zinc Prices Continued To Rebound On Positive Macro Sentiment

LME zinc prices closed up $13.5/mt or 0.59% at $2,310/mt last Friday evening. The trading volume stood at 6958 lots, and open interest added 2372 lots to 207,000 lots.

LME zinc inventories increased by more than 50,000 mt to 142,775 mt this week amid large quantities of deliveries to LME warehouses. Meanwhile, the contango of LME cash to the three-month zinc contract pointed to sluggish oversea demand. There may be additional deliveries to LME warehouses in the near term.

Last Friday evening, the most active SHFE 2310 zinc contract prices closed at 19915 yuan/mt, up 25 yuan/mt or 0.13%. Trading volume stood at 47,000 lots, and open interest decreased by 342 lots to 96,000 lots. The decline in zinc prices has driven the buying sentiment of downstream enterprises, and the available spot cargoes decreased sharply. However, there has been little change in the downstream start-up.

Bunker Hill Mining ngày 1/9 thông báo mỏ chì-kẽm Bunker Hill tại Idaho, Mỹ đã sản xuất tinh quặng chì và kẽm đầu tiên vào cuối tháng 6/2026. Hoạt động hiện đang trong giai đoạn tăng công suất, với việc tối ưu hóa liên tục các hoạt động khai thác hầm lò và chế biến. Nhà máy chế biến có công suất thiết kế 1.800 tấn/ngày, với tổng sản lượng kế hoạch hàng năm khoảng 85.000 tấn tinh quặng kẽm và tinh quặng chì chứa bạc. Công ty dự kiến bổ sung vốn lưu động thông qua tài trợ dự phòng và các thỏa thuận trả trước tinh quặng, mục tiêu đạt sản xuất thương mại toàn phần vào cuối năm 2026. SMM dự báo sản lượng năm 2026 của mỏ khoảng 25.000 tấn kẽm trong tinh quặng và 10.000–15.000 tấn chì trong tinh quặng, tính theo hàm lượng kim loại. Trong khi đó, hoạt động khoan ngầm gần đây tại khu khoáng hóa Cate-8 ghi nhận hàm lượng mẫu tối đa 41,1% chì và 7,41% kẽm. Công ty đang đánh giá tính khả thi của việc đưa khu vực này vào kế hoạch khai thác ngắn hạn. Khi công suất tăng dần, mỏ dự kiến sẽ cung cấp thêm nguồn cung chì và kẽm cho Bắc Mỹ.
