SMM Weekly statistics on global iron ore shipments

SHANGHAI, Aug 8 (SMM) –

SMM statistics showed that the global iron ore shipments totaled 30.91 million mt last week, a drop of 6.2% week-on-week. The shipments from Australia fell 4.3% on a weekly basis to 18 million mt, of which 12.31 million mt or 68.4% went to China, a decrease of 15% WoW. The shipments from Brazil dipped by 14.9% on a weekly basis to 6.64 million mt, 2.44 million mt, or 36.7% went to China, a decrease of 41.6% WoW. A total of 20.9611 million mt of iron ore arrived at Chinese ports, down 14.12% WoW.
