SHANGHAI, May 18 (SMM) – The total inventory of rebar across social warehouses and steel makers in China stood at 8.31 million mt as of Thursday May 18, down 434,200 mt or 5% from a week ago, and down 27.9% from the same period last year.

The inventory across social warehouses was 5.85 million mt, down 295,500 mt or 4.81% on the week, and a drop of 24.4% on the year.

The in-plant inventory stood at 2.47 million mt, down 138,800 mt or 5.3% on the week, and down 35% on the year.
