China’s Exports Of Copper Cathode Estimated At 40,000 Mt In April

SHANGHAI, May 16 (SMM) - Since April, the total copper inventory at LME Asian warehouses has increased by about 20,000 mt. Smelters stepped up exports to other countries after the export window opened.  It is expected that the export of copper cathode will decrease significantly in May. When the export window opened in the first quarter, smelters stepped up their exports and some large traders also shipped their goods out of the domestic bonded warehouses to the overseas market, which was largely reflected in the export volume in March-April.
