SHANGHAI, May 16 (SMM) - In April, the operating rates in primary aluminium alloy industry averaged 43.29%, up 2.18 percentage points YoY, but down 0.37 percentage point MoM. Primary aluminium alloys are mostly used for the production of auto parts. Auto consumption did not pick up significantly in April. Some small and medium-sized alloy enterprises reported sharp declines in new orders.
The operating rates are expected to continue to fluctuate at a low level in May.
