SHANGHAI, May 16 (SMM) - Aluminium prices rose initially and then pulled back in the period of April 9-May 9, with the monthly average up 267 yuan/mt MoM to 18,665 yuan/mt. Aluminium rod supply has basically recovered to normal levels since the end of March. The aluminium rod market cooled down slightly at the beginning of April. Aluminium prices spiked from late March to mid-April, causing aluminium rod conversion margins to move down.
