Added Value of Electronics Information Manufacturing Above Designated Size in Q1 Fell

According to the data of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the added value of the electronics information manufacturing above the designated size fell 1.1% year-on-year in the first quarter. The decline narrowed 1.5 percentage points from January and February while the growth rate was 4.1 and 2 percentage points lower than that of the industrial and high-tech manufacturing industries in the same period, respectively. The added value of the electronics information manufacturing above designated size in January-March increased 1.2% over the previous year. In the first quarter, the output of mobile phones was 331 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 7%, of which the output of smartphones was 239 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 13.8%. The output of microcomputer equipment was 79 million units, a year-on-year decrease of 22.5% and the output of integrated circuits was 72.20 billion units, a year-on-year decrease of 14.8%.
