China Passenger Car Association: Retail Sales of Passenger Cars Reached 1.01 Million Units yn April, Up 72% YoY

During April 1-22, the retail sales of passenger cars stood at 1.01 million units, a year-on-year increase of 72% and a month-on-month increase of 20%. The sales totalled 5.29 million units in 2023, a year-on-year decrease of 4%. The wholesale sales of new energy vehicles were 909,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 77% and a decrease of 1% on the month. The total sales stabilised at 5.97 million units in 2023. The retail sales of new energy vehicles were 352,000 units, an increase of 98% year-on-year and an increase of 13% month-on-month. The cumulative retail sales reached 1.68 million units in 2023, an increase of 34% year-on-year. The wholesale sales of new energy vehicles were 353,000 units, a year-on-year increase of 83% and an increase of 4% on the month. The sales totalled 1.85 million units in 2023, a year-on-year increase of 34%.
