SHANGHAI, Apr 10 (SMM) - The average operating rate across lead-acid battery producers in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Hubei and Hebei provinces stood at 64.56% last week (April 1-April 7), down 7.86 percentage points on the week. According to research, entering April, the off-season has intensified and traders are less willing to purchase. As such, most enterprises plan to lower their production in April under the rising finished product inventory, especially large enterprises that did not immediately adjust their production to polish quarterly financial reports in the early stage. The main reason for the large drop in the weekly operating rates of lead-acid battery companies was the poor orders caused by the Qingming holiday. The operating rates are expected to recover this week as some smelters have resumed work after the holiday.
