China to Strictly Crack down on Illegal Mining and Damage to Farmland in the Name of Ecological Restoration

The Ministry of Natural Resources issued a notice on April 6 to strengthen the implementation, supervision and management of ecological restoration projects in land and space, clarifying that illegal mining and damage to farmland in the name of ecological restoration should be strictly prevented. The focuses of land and space ecological restoration projects mainly include integrated protection and restoration of mountains, rivers, forests, fields, lakes, grass and sand, ecological restoration of historical mines, and marine ecological protection and restoration.
