Downstream Market of HRC Recovered Post the CNY Holiday

SHANGHAI, Mar 2 (SMM) - According to data from China Passenger Car Association, in February 1-31, the retail sales of passenger cars stood at 1.24 million units, a decrease of 41% year-on-year, and a decrease of 43% month-on-month. The wholesale sales were 1.34 million units, down 38% on the year and 40% on the month.

According to statistics released by Clarksons, a British shipbuilding and shipping industry analysis agency, on February 7, global new ship orders in January were 1.96 million compensated gross tonnage (72 ships), a year-on-year decrease of 63%. Among them, Korean enterprises undertook 640,000 compensated gross tonnage (12 ships), accounting for 33%, ranking second. Chinese enterprises undertook 1.12 million compensated gross tonnage (40 ships), ranking first with a 57% share.

According to the survey of CME construction machinery network, a total of 13,000 units of excavators were sold in January, a year-on-year decrease of 16%. Domestic sales stood at 3,500 units, a year-on-year decrease of 77%, and exports stood at 9,500 units, a year-on-year increase of 10%.
