According to the operational report released by Usiminas, a steel and iron ore producer in Brazil, the company's iron ore production in the fourth quarter of 2022 was 2.32 million mt, down 7.8% on the quarter and 5.8% year-on-year, while its iron our output in the full-year 2022 totalled 8.90 million mt, down 4.5% year-on-year.
In terms of sales, Usiminas sold 2.4 million mt of iron ore in Q4 last year, up 7% from the previous quarter and down 7.8% on an annual basis. Of this total, 1.665 million mt of iron ore was sold to overseas markets, an increase of 7.9% over the quarter and a decrease of 9.6% YoY, 613,000 mt was for its own use and 122,000 mt was sold to third parties.
In full year 2022, the company's iron ore sales amounted to 8.64 million mt, a decrease of 4.2% YoY.
