According to American Petroleum Institute (API) data, crude oil inventories in the US unexpectedly dropped last week, while refined oil inventories increased. According to these anonymous sources, in the week ending February 3, crude oil inventories decreased by about 2.2 million barrels, while gasoline inventories increased by about 5.3 million barrels, and distillate inventories added about 1.1 million barrels.
