SMM News: crude steel output: the national output of stainless steel crude steel in the first half of 2020 was 13.9613 million tons, a decrease of 393100 tons or 2.74% compared with the same period in the first half of 2019. Among them, the output of Cr-Ni series stainless steel was 6.8991 million tons, decreased by 165800 tons, decreased by 2.35%, and its share increased by 0.20% to 49.42% over the same period last year to 49.42%. The output of stainless steel (including some products that do not meet international standards) was 4.382 million tons, decreased by 297100 tons, decreased by 6.35%, and the share decreased by 1.21 percentage points to 31.39%. The output of Cr stainless steel was 2.5889 million tons, an increase of 71900 tons, an increase of 2.86%, and its share increased by 1.01% to 18.54%. Duplex stainless steel was 91384 tons, a decrease of 2102 tons or 2.25% over the same period last year.
Import and export: imported 636400 tons of stainless steel in the first half of 2020, a decrease of 43600 tons or 6.41% compared with the same period last year. Exports of stainless steel in the first half of 2020 were 1.6129 million tons, a decrease of 85100 tons or 5.01 percent over the same period last year.
Apparent consumption: the apparent consumption of stainless steel in the first half of 2020 was 11.6585 million tons, a decrease of 270500 tons or 2.27% compared with the same period last year.
