Refined nickel output at domestic nickel smelters in SMM survey sample was 11,900 tonnes, down 1,540 tonnes or 11.5 per cent on a monthly basis, according to SMM data.

SHANGHAI, Oct. 9 (SMM) – Refined nickel output at domestic nickel smelters in SMM survey sample was 11,900 tonnes, down 1,540 tonnes or 11.5 per cent on a monthly basis, according to SMM data.

Philippine Nickel Ore Exports Hold Flat MoM in September

China’s total refined nickel output is estimated at 12,474 tonnes in September based on survey results of producers in SMM survey sample, with monthly capacity of 21,134 tonnes, accounting for 95.4 per cent of China’s total.

Morgan Stanley Sees Nickel Price Higher on Supply Shortages

The national output from January to October was 116,000 tonnes, down 12.9 per cent on a yearly basis.

Taiwan (PoC) made an affirmative preliminary injury finding on 12 October in its anti-dumping case on Vietnamese cold-rolled stainless, citing rising, lower-priced imports since 2023. A preliminary dumping decision, including possible provisional duties, is due within 70 days, around late December. Vietnam has meanwhile accepted an AD petition on cold-rolled stainless from Taiwan (PoC), China and Indonesia.
