SHANGHAI, Sept. 26 (SMM) – One lead-acid battery producer in Jiangxi has already suspended operations in advance for the upcoming 2017 Chinese National Day holiday, Shanghai Metals Market learns.

The producer, with daily lead consumption about 200 tonnes, has not decided when to return online, and the closure is expected to last for more than 15 days.
China Battery Manufacturers to Halt Production for National Day Holiday
One person familiar with the condition said export orders were down sharply following recent big gains in lead market. To avoid building up stocks at high costs, the producer decided to stop production ahead of the holiday. Restart date will be determined by orders.
