Zinc Spot Discounts Expand in Shanghai, Trade Slackens, SMM Reports

SHANGHAI, Jun. 25 (SMM) - Spot discounts for regular #0 zinc expand 30 yuan per tonne in Shanghai market over August zinc on the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) on July 25. Spot zinc prices in Guangdong were quoted at discounts of 20-0 yuan per tonne over August zinc. Spot premiums in Tianjin were 220-300 yuan per tonne, SMM reported.

Trading weakened today as downstream buyers only purchased on an as-needed basis due to high zinc prices, SMM noted.

#0 zinc traded mainly in 23,080-23,360 yuan per tonne range in Shanghai on July 25. #0 zinc prices in Guangdong were 23,150-23,180 yuan per tonne and 23,380-24,290 yuan per tonne in Tianjin, SMM data showed.
