Nickel ore inventories at seven major Chinese ports dropped in the week ending June 30, Shanghai Metals Market data showed.

SHANGHAI, Jul. 17 (SMM) – Nickel ore inventories at seven major Chinese ports dropped in the week ending June 30, Shanghai Metals Market data showed.

Nickel Price to Hover at Highs, SMM Foresees

Inventories at the seven ports were down 130,000 tonnes last week, according to SMM data.

As of now, the FOB price of Indonesian MHP nickel is $14,994/mt Ni, and the FOB price of Indonesian MHP cobalt is $37,536/mt Co. The MHP payables (against SMM battery-grade nickel sulphate index) was 84.5-85.5, and the MHP cobalt payables (against SMM refined cobalt (Rotterdam warehouse)) was 73. The FOB price of Indonesian high-grade nickel matte is $15,628/mt Ni.
