South Korea plans to strengthen cooperation with Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan in the critical minerals sector, advancing joint exploration and technology development for lithium, nickel and cobalt resources. In Kazakhstan, the Korea Institute of Geoscience and Mineral Resources (KIGAM) has signed an agreement with local companies to conduct joint drilling at the Bakennoye lithium deposit and its tailings in 2027. The potential lithium resources are preliminarily estimated at approximately 25,000 tonnes. In Uzbekistan, the two sides will focus on the exploration and development of nickel and cobalt resources in the Sultanbobo area, including R&D on processing and refining technologies and feasibility studies. The cooperation aims to facilitate the participation of Korean companies in subsequent development projects and strengthen the security of South Korea’s critical mineral supply chains.

Bộ Năng lượng và Tài nguyên Khoáng sản Indonesia (ESDM) đã chính thức công bố Giá tham chiếu khoáng sản niken (HMA) nửa cuối tháng 9 năm 2026. HMA niken nửa cuối tháng 9 được ấn định ở mức 16.698,00 USD/tấn, giảm 35,33 USD/tấn, tương đương 0,21%, so với mức 16.733,33 USD/tấn trong nửa đầu tháng 9. HMA coban ở mức 52.704,33 USD/tấn, trong khi HMA quặng sắt ở mức 1,47 USD/tấn và HMA quặng crôm ở mức 6,37 USD/tấn. Theo công thức HPM quặng niken sửa đổi theo Kepmen ESDM số 363.K/MB.01/MEM.B/2026, có hiệu lực từ ngày 15 tháng 9 năm 2026, HPM quặng niken như sau: · Ni 1,2%: 24,89 USD/tấn ướt, giảm 20,77 USD/tấn ướt, dựa trên công thức HPM mới cho loại Ni 1,2% trở xuống. · Ni 1,3%: 49,20 USD/tấn ướt, giảm 0,69 USD/tấn ướt. · Ni 1,4%: 53,83 USD/tấn ướt, giảm 0,24 USD/tấn ướt. · Ni 1,5%: 58,50 USD/tấn ướt, giảm 0,25 USD/tấn ướt. · Ni 1,6%: 63,38 USD/tấn ướt, giảm 0,26 USD/tấn ướt.
