SHANGHAI, Nov. 20 (SMM) –LME zinc prices opened at USD 1,525/mt on Thursday, and fell to USD 1,487,5/mt, and closed at USD 1,528.5/mt, up USD 10/mt. Trading volumes were up 2,634 to 13,499, and total positions increased 1,929 to 284,000.
SHFE 1601 zinc contract prices opened at RMB 12,000/mt Thursday evening, then dipped to RMB 11,815/mt due to selling pressure, and closed at RMB 12,120/mt, down RMB 70/mt. Trading volumes were 595,000 lots, and total positions soared 3,678 to 255,000.
LME zinc prices are expected to move between USD 1,505-1,535/mt today. SHFE 1601 zinc contract prices will hover between RMB 12,000-12,200/mt, with spot prices RMB 400-480/mt above SHFE 1601 zinc contract prices.
