NEW YORK (Scrap Register): United States shredded scrap prices remained flat during the week ended October 23, while major US aluminum scrap commodities prices on Scrap Register Price Index continued to remain flat.
According to TSI, US shredded prices held steady at $181 a long ton (delivered Midwest mill) the week, though buyers have already begun talking down the market for November buys.
Similarly, dealers remain pessimistic of achieving sales at current levels, however, they do not expect scrap prices in the next buy week period to collapse by the same magnitude as they did earlier this month.
The scrap prices of 356 Auto Wheels, 5052 Alum Clip, 6061 Alum Extrusion, 6063 10-10 Extrusion, Al/Cu Rad with Iron, Al/Cu Radiator, Alum Breakage 50%, Alum Litho Sheets, Alum Old Sheet traded almost flat during the week.
