SHANGHAI, Jul. 30 (SMM) – SHFE 1509 zinc contract prices opened at RMB 15,030/mt Wednesday evening, then fluctuated between RMB 14,900-15,050/mt, and closed at RMB 14,970/mt, down RMB 110/mt or 0.73%. Trading volumes decreased 3,538 to 41,786 lots, and total positions grew 3,110 to 118,584.
SHFE 1509 zinc contract prices fluctuated around RMB 15,000/mt after opening. The US dollar index rose in the afternoon. When combined with the plunge in China’s A-share market, LME zinc prices slumped to RMB 14,815/mt, and closed at RMB 14,850/mt, down RMB 230/mt or 1.53%. Trading volumes decreased 17,742 to 97,684 lots, and total positions increased 9,484 to 124,958. SHFE 1509 zinc contract prices are expected to test support from RMB 14,800/mt.
