[SMM Analysis] Finland Nickel Sulphate Imports Rose in April, While Indonesia Imports Pulled Back

According to the latest data from China Customs, China's total nickel sulphate imports in April 2026 were 6,554 mt in metal content, up 0.4% MoM and down 9% YoY. China's nickel sulphate exports were 76 mt in metal content, down 33% MoM and down 39% YoY. China's net nickel sulphate imports in April 2026 were 6,477 mt in metal content, up 1% MoM and down 8% YoY.

By country, exports to Japan declined this month, driving the total exports to pull back. On the import side, imports from Finland, Taiwan, China and other sources increased this month. Although imports from Indonesia pulled back, total imports still showed notable growth. Net nickel salt imports rose this month, largely in line with last month's expectations.
